A myriad of outdoor pursuits is “a natural” for
people who live in and visit Soldotna. Camping,
hiking, canoeing, horseback riding, berry picking,
cross country skiing, raft trips, snowmachining,
hunting, photography, flightseeing from a small
aircraft over breathtakingly beautiful icefields,
taking a float plane trip to a secluded lakeside
area, driving a few miles to watch the white Beluga
whales in Cook Inlet or to witness the brief
stopover of thousands of snow geese on their
northern migration in April, are ventures for every
taste and physical ability.
For the less adventurous there is an abundance of
relaxing activities in Soldotna. Tee off at the
local golf course or enjoy a leisurely afternoon at
one of the cities many parks. Take the family to one
of the children’s parks, ball fields or to a movie
at the cinema. Bowling, roller-skating, tennis,
racquetball, swimming, exercising at a fitness
center and ice-skating are just a few of the many
activities available.
